Why you should use Lightroom for your vacation photos

Lightroom, from Adobe, is one of the most used software programs by wedding photographers. As a Michigan wedding photographer I have been using it for weddings and my vacation photos. It is an awesome and powerful program that will help you organize all your photos. Your first step is to import your photos into Lightroom. You will need to create and save your import as a catalogue.

Adjust your photos to give them proper exposure. Use either the Brightness or Exposure controls to make your adjustments. Watch the histogram, at the top right, to ensure you are not clipping any of the details.

Use the adjustment brush to smooth out skin tones. Select the brush and to the right of the menu select “Soften Skin”. The settings of the brush will lower the clarity and the sharpness. Paint over the face of your subject and avoid the eyes, lips and hair.
